For the last seven years, Christians in Cardiff and Newport have been trained and then introduced to survivors of modern slavery for the purpose of friendship. Just about everyone - charities who refer in, befrienders, service users, and churches - have absolutely loved the project. We've seen women truly loved in the way we think Jesus would love them.
So we're now expanding to Swansea.
We've been told by charities that there are a good number of female survivors who would love to be connected to someone in their community to take their minds off of their past trauma, their loneliness, their asylum cases, and the day-to-day struggles they face. If you think you could commit to meet up with a woman either every week or fortnightly for just a little time out of the house, this project could be for you!
Join us at Parklands Church on Saturday 28th September to find out more! There will be a presentation from Red Community, opportunities to ask questions and also a free brunch!
We hope to see you there!
